GUÍA DE CÁDIZ
Soy guía oficial de Cádiz y técnico superior en Turismo, con más de una década de experiencia como profesional del sector. Desde el inicio tuve claro que para ejercer bien este oficio era imprescindible viajar y aprender del mundo. Por eso, durante mi formación pasé un tiempo en California y, tras finalizar mis estudios, me trasladé a Londres, donde aprendí inglés mientras trabajaba en hostelería. Aquella etapa fue clave para conocer un idioma que hoy me permite conectar con personas de todo el mundo.
De regreso a mi ciudad natal, Cádiz, trabajé para varias empresas hasta que en 2018 me convertí en guía independiente. Desde entonces no he dejado de trabajar, aprender y crear nuevas experiencias culturales, colaborando con marcas grandes y pequeñas para difundir la historia y el patrimonio gaditano, tanto entre visitantes como entre la población local.
Paralelamente, desarrollo contenido cultural e histórico en redes sociales como Instagram, Facebook, TikTok y YouTube, donde una comunidad de más de 80.000 personas me sigue bajo el nombre de Jesús Guía Cádiz. Mi propósito es transmitir historia con rigor y fomentar la reflexión. Porque solo entendiendo nuestro pasado podemos comprender el presente y afrontar el futuro con una mirada crítica, valorando la riqueza cultural que nos rodea y define. Quien desconoce su pasado desconoce su identidad, y esa ignorancia nos hace vulnerables y manipulables. Aprender historia es esencial para conservar nuestra memoria y avanzar como sociedad.
I am an official tour guide in Cádiz and an advanced Tourism technician, with over a decade of experience in the sector. From the very beginning, I understood that travelling and learning from the world were essential to practising this profession well. That is why, during my training, I spent some time in California and, after completing my studies, I moved to London, where I learned English while working in the hospitality industry. That period was key to acquiring a language that now allows me to connect with people from all over the world.
After returning to my hometown, Cádiz, I worked for several companies until, in 2018, I became an independent tour guide. Since then, I have continuously worked, learned, and created new cultural experiences, collaborating with both large and small brands to promote the history and heritage of Cádiz among visitors and local residents alike.
Alongside this, I create cultural and historical content on social media platforms such as Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, and YouTube, where a community of over 80,000 people follows me under the name Jesús Guía Cádiz. My aim is to share history with academic rigour and encourage reflection. Only by understanding our past can we truly comprehend the present and face the future with a critical perspective, valuing the cultural heritage that surrounds and defines us. Those who do not know their past do not know their identity, and such ignorance makes us vulnerable and easily manipulated. Learning history is essential to preserving our collective memory and moving forward as a society.
